Fats and Friends rehearsal

Fats and Friends rehearsal was one of the hardest jobs Paul Shaffer ever had. It was about 85 degrees and Paul had to get the three guys who created rock and roll to work together. We were both up for 48 hrs to get this done.
This was the only time these three giants played together. As the NY Times said " And even the unitiated will hear the ivory-tickling glee in the three-piano jam - a boogie-woogie, ''Swanee River Rock'' (with no apologies to Stephen Foster) and a version of Hank Williams's ''Jambalaya'' that has the whole audience singing and stomping along. At a time when too much television rock appears in canned video clips, ''Fats Domino and Friends'' is live, unfettered rock and roll - pure pleasure". ...By JON PARELES
It really does not get better than this.
